about the artist

adam k. orla-bukowski is a painter based in alameda, california.
for over 50 years, I've explored the world through drawing and painting, using art as a lifelong conversation with myself and the experiences that shape me. With a background in advertising and graphic design, my work blends expressive line, color, and form across both figurative and abstract styles. Largely self-taught, I draw inspiration from everyday life, allowing each piece to inform the next as I continue to grow, experiment, and create. Even after five decades, I feel like I'm just getting started.
